Some stories have dramatic beginnings. Mine started quietly — a child’s giggle, a cat’s purr, and a moment of love I never wanted to forget. That's how Kedi & Jake was born — a book series for toddlers and preschoolers that explores everyday values, life skills, and early learning concepts.
Jake, with his big blue eyes and wild curls, is curious about everything. Kedi, our friendly black cat, follows him with patience and calm. One day, I saw Jake hand Kedi his favorite toy car. Kedi just curled up close as if to say, “I see you, little one.” It was just a regular moment, but it stuck with me — a quiet reminder of kindness and connection.
I wrote Kedi & Jake because I wanted more than just another picture book. I wanted a story that doesn’t shout or overwhelm but instead soothes with warmth and quiet joy. It needed to leave something lasting beyond the story. That’s why each book includes a simple reflection, such as "What We Learned Today, " plus a little game or activity. The goal? Help children connect the story to their own lives. That way, the learning happens naturally — through play and simple conversations.
As a mom and former educator, I’ve seen again and again: kids learn best when they feel safe and loved. Reading together does that. It’s not just words — it’s snuggles, giggles, curious questions, and those tiny moments that build trust.
Kedi & Jake is a reminder that even the smallest gestures like sharing a blanket, giving a cuddle, or sitting side by side can shape a child’s heart.
I hope that when you open these pages with your little one, you’ll find joy in the simple things and comfort in the quiet.
Sometimes, the biggest lessons come from the smallest moments like a cat’s purr, a child’s smile, or the quiet pages of a book.
