Lisa Perlstein | Author of Kedi & Jake
Lisa Perlstein is the author and creator of the Kedi & Jake children’s book series, a play-based learning experience designed to help young children practice everyday values through stories and guided activities.
Inspired by the real-life bond between her son and their family cat, Lisa created Kedi & Jake to turn simple moments into meaningful learning. Her work focuses on helping families move from talking about everyday values like kindness and honesty to practicing them through repeatable, screen-free interactions.
Before becoming a children’s author, Lisa was a professor of international business, teaching and working across universities in the United States and Europe. Her background in education and program design informs the structure behind Kedi & Jake, where each story is paired with simple activities, reflection prompts, and play-based tools.
Lisa’s approach is also influenced by evidence-based behavioral principles, including Yale University’s ABCs of Child Rearing (developed by Dr. Alan Kazdin). She translates these ideas into practical, accessible tools that parents and educators can use in everyday life.
Through Kedi & Jake, Lisa develops stories, activity cards, and guided learning materials that support social-emotional development in children ages 2–5. Her work is designed for families, educators, and caregivers who want to create consistent, meaningful learning experiences without relying on screens.
Lisa Perlstein lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her family.
